Scothern Parish Council meeting on 11 December 2024

Scothern Methodist Church

It is 10 pm, and I am back from Scothern Parish Council. I want to congratulate Jane Johnson for her election as Chair of the Parish Council and Barnaby Patchett as vice-chair. I trust they will support their village and community by enabling a collaborative spirit to work on a positive strategy with the help of all the other parish councillors and the residents.

I provided a report on my activities. I was glad that my support for the printed edition of Scothern News was mentioned, which helps Scothern residents who have difficulty accessing the online version. I was also pleased that the Beck got cleaned and that the work undertaken could contribute to decreased flooding.

Also, the Parish Council is progressing with the Scothern Emergency Plan I suggested last year, as they have submitted it to the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum for consideration and approval.

Before the meeting, I met with the Clerk, Jane, Chris Shepherd, Chair of Scothern Recreation Centre, and Gill Radley, Secretary, at “The Bottle and Glass” around soft drinks. We discussed the Scothern Flower and Produce Show Trophy replacement, the charity’s history, their actions, and potential grants.

After a long day at work and an evening in Scothern, it is time to unwind, sleep, and prepare for another day.
