Supporting Scothern’s Next Chapter

I attended the Scothern Parish Council meeting, congratulated the newly elected Chair and Vice‑Chair, and reported on recent work, including support for Scothern News, Beck cleaning, and progress on the Emergency Plan. Earlier, I met local representatives to discuss the Flower and Produce Show Trophy and future grant opportunities.

Scothern Update: War Memorial Plans, Community Resilience and Parish Priorities

I visited Scothern to meet Parish Clerk Lisa Brooks‑Shield and discuss progress on relocating and restoring the War Memorial. I also covered Scothern News, the emergency plan, parish responsibilities, and local finances. It was a productive morning, rounded off with thanks to Scothern Nurseries and plans to return soon

Public Service in Action: A Day on the Ground

I began the day at the Armed Forces Day flag‑raising ceremony before meeting residents in Sudbrooke and later supporting a Scothern resident. After speaking with more than twenty people, I reflected on the privilege of listening, helping, and working with a community that cares deeply about its place and people.

Ending 2023 with Pride, Entering 2024 with Purpose

I reflected on a transformative 2023, marked by a new leadership role in government, supportive colleagues, and starting a Coaching apprenticeship. Being unexpectedly elected District Councillor and contributing to St George’s Ofsted inspection were standout moments. Grateful for the organisations I supported, I look to 2024 with hope and purpose.

Storm Babet: Weather and Flooding Update

Severe weather has brought 40–50mm of overnight rain and multiple flood warnings across the District, with roads affected and power outages in Market and Middle Rasen. WLDC and partner agencies are responding, delivering sandbags and managing risks. Residents at imminent risk should call Floodline or 999, and report issues via Fix My Street.
